Early Morning Program (EMP)
The East Dartmouth site (50 Caledonia Road) offers early morning program to children currently enrolled in grades Primary – 6 students and attending Admiral Westphal Elementary and Ian Forsyth Elementary schools. During early morning members will participate in quiet activities such as puzzles, games, and drawing.
Hours of operation; 7:30 am – 8:30 am (includes drop off)
Cost; $55.00 per month, per child
Members must be 5 years of age by December 31st, 2018 and enrolled in grade Primary. The Club does not offer EMP to children enrolled in Pre-Primary Programs.
After School Program (ASP)
The East Dartmouth site offers after school programs to children currently enrolled in grades Primary – 6. Children can participate in and experience a wide range of activities including recreation, physical activity, cooking, arts/crafts, reading, and leadership (“Torch” program). After school programs vary from site to site.
This site currently serves children attending, Admiral Westphal, Brookhouse, Ian Forsyth, and *Bois Joli, *Shannon Park schools. (* NOT TRANSPORTED BY THE CLUB. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange for transportation to the applicable Club site for their child/ren)
Hours of operation; Dismissal – 6 pm
Cost; $185.00 per month, per child
Members must be 5 yrs. of age by December 31st, 2018 and enrolled in grade Primary. The Club does not offer ASP to children enrolled in Pre-Primary Programs.
In-service day camps, Christmas break Day camps, and *March Break day camp
The East Dartmouth site offers programming to registered members currently enrolled in grades Primary – 6 according to the Halifax Regional Centre For Education calendar (formerly HRSB). Registered members will participate in a variety of activities, based on a theme each day camp.
Hours of operation; 7:30 am – 6 pm (children must arrive by 9 am)
Cost; $25.00 per day camp, per child
(*March break day camp is offered by the week only, cost $125.00 per child)
Note; this service is optional and not included in any other BGCGH program/fees. Participants do not have to be registered in any other BGCGH program or activity to register for this service. The Club does not offer this service to children enrolled in Pre-Primary Programs.
Winter Adventure Camp
March Break (Monday – Thursday)
Children ages 9-12 yrs.(Members must be 9 yrs. of age by December 31st, 2018)
Cost; $150.00 per child
Join us at Winter Adventure Camp for fun and adventure! Sleep away camp provides great memories for all. Campers will enjoy three nights and four days of amazing adventure and friendship. Located in Windsor NS, acres of property allow for hiking and other outdoor activities. Campers will participate in Winter survival skill building, eco-hikes, star-gazing, camp fires and storytelling, adventure crafts, etc. and a little relaxing too! Campers will also enjoy exploring the site and have a great time playing in the fresh air!
Note; this service is optional and not included in any other BGCGH program/fees. Children do not have to be registered in any other BGCGH program or activity to register for this unique camping experience!
Summer Day Camps
Children 5-12 yrs (must be 5 yrs. of age by July 2, 2019)
BGCGH is dedicated to getting kids outdoors, learning new skills, and trying new things. Our Summer program consists of structured and unstructured activities with physical activity, crafts, games, day trips to local attractions, and team builders. We are committed to creating lifelong relationships among members and families. Summer Day Camp provide supervision and activities in a safe, supportive environment. Do you only need a week or a two of Day Camp? No problem! Parents have the convenience of registering by the week! Simply choose the week (s) you would like your child to attend!

Summer Sleep Away Camp at Camp Mush-A-Mush

Is your child interested in learning about camping and looking for a fun and exciting adventure this summer? Consider signing them up for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Halifax Sleep Away Camping trip for kids ages 9-12.
This year we’ll be going to Camp Mush-a-Mush which has 30+ acres of mixed woodland and fields on the shore of Big Mush-A-Mush Lake in the heart of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.
We are planning some very exciting and relaxing activities such as field games, nature hikes, star-gazing shelter building, fire making, crafts and drama. The campers will be sharing a cabin with new friends from our other club sites across Greater Halifax for 3 nights and 4 days and cooking all of their own meals.Our staff work actively with the campers to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience!
