March 15, COVID-19 and Boys and Girls Clubs

Dear Club families:

Today, on March 15th, the Government of Nova Scotia announced new measures concerning COVID-19. The Province announced the cancellation of March Break camps and related programming, and it also announced that schools will be closed for at least two weeks following March Break.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Halifax is following the provincial government’s directive. Our March Break camps are cancelled at all of our club locations: Cole Harbour, Dartmouth North, East Dartmouth, Sackville, and Spryfield. For the following two weeks after March Break week, all of our early morning, after school, breakfast, youth, in-service, and education programs will be closed at all of our club locations: Admiral Westphal Elementary School, Cole Harbour, Dartmouth North, East Dartmouth, Humber Park Elementary School, Sackville, and Spryfield.

We understand this program interruption may create inconvenience, and our organization’s instinct is to always be there for our club families. However, at this time, it’s important that the Club play its part in helping our community stay healthy.

More specific information about this program interruption will be sent to you tomorrow, such as impact on program fee payments or other arrangements.

Thank you for your patience during this situation! Please take care.
