2026/2027 After School Program Details

BGC Greater Halifax offers after-school programs for children currently enrolled in elementary school. Each week children will enjoy a variety of low- and high-energy activities in the gym (where available), activity spaces, outdoors, and the kitchen. Activities may include cooking, arts & crafts, physical activity, reading, research, and science. Activities vary from site to site.

Dartmouth North – 60 Farrell Street

The site currently serves Harbour View Elementary, John McNeil Elementary, and *Shannon Park Elementary.

*Not transported by the Club. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange for transportation.

East Dartmouth – 50 Caledonia Road

The site currently serves, Ian Forsyth Elementary,  *Bois Joli & *Shannon Park, and *Carrefour (grade 6 only.)

* Not transported by the Club. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange for transportation.

Sackville – 45 Connolly Road 

This site currently serves, Millwood, Sackville Heights Elementary, *Sackville Heights Junior High (grade 6 only)

*Not transported by the Club. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange for transportation.

Spryfield – 11 Aldergrove Drive

This site currently serves, Central Spryfield, *John W. MacLeod, Elizabeth Sutherland, Chebucto Heights and Cunard Jr High (grade 6 only)

2026 Summer Day Camp Details

BGC Greater Halifax Summer Day Camps provide supervision and activities in a safe, supportive environment. Do you only need a week or a two of Day Camp? No problem! Parents have the convenience of registering by the week! Simply choose the week(s) you would like your child to attend! Children must be 5 to 12 years old. Participants must be at least 5 years old by December 31, 2025 and completing grade Primary by June 30, 2026 to be eligible to register for Summer 2026 day camps.

Hours of operation – 8:00 am-5:30 pm (all sites)

COST –  $200.00/per week/ participant. 

  • Weeks 1 through 4, fees are processed on June 21st via auto withdrawal from clients nominated account as applicable.
  • Weeks 5 through 8, fees are processed on July 21st via auto withdrawal from clients nominated account as applicable.

  • Week 1 – Into the Wild (July 6–10)
  • Week 2 – BGC Major Leagues (July 13–17)
  • Week 3 – Camp Coastal (July 20–24)
  • Week 4 – Step Right Up! (July 27–31)
  • Week 5 – The Big Dig (August 4–7)
  • Week 6 – Make It & Break It (August 10–14)
  • Week 7 – Sand, Sky & Sea (August 17–21)
  • Week 8 – The Last Lap (August 24–28)

In-service Day Camp, Holiday Day Camp & March Break Camp Details

BGC Greater Halifax Clubs offers programming to children according to the Halifax Regional Centre for Education calendar. Registered children will participate in a variety of activities, based on a theme each inservice day. The sites are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm based upon pre-registration.

Inservice day camps, Christmas break day camps, and March break day camps are offered according to the Halifax Regional Centre for Education calendar at the following sites:

Dartmouth North – 60 Farrell Street

East Dartmouth – 50 Caledonia Road

Sackville – 45 Connolly Road

Spryfield – 11 Aldergrove Drive

Children do not have to be registered in any other Club program or activity to register for in-service day camps, Christmas break day camps, or March break day camps (March break day camps are offered by the week only). Children must be 5 years of age by December 31st of the current term and enrolled in grade Primary. The Club does not offer day camp services to children enrolled in pre-primary programs.
